Bent Tempered Glass

Tri-Temp Glass Inc. is a certified manufacturer of bent tempered glass. Bent tempered glass can be used for railings, refrigeration display units, insulated glass manufacturers, and store fixtures. The curved tempered can also be laminated to meet specific building code requirements.

SentryGlas®️ Laminated Glass

Tri-Temp Glass stocks several cases of .060 SentryGlas®️ interlayers, in sizes up to 84 x 120. Our substantial inventory enables us to complete most orders in 2 to 3 weeks. 

SentryGlas®️ was originally developed for skyscraper buildings that require hurricane glazing protection in the United States. The use of Sentryglas®️ has expanded to many other forms of architecture including: facades, overhead glazing, doors, glass railings, glass floors and interior glass partitions.

SentryGlas®️ inter-layers are used to laminate glass and provide superior strength and  safety. SentryGlas®️ is 5x stronger and 100x stiffer than other conventional laminating film. The strength possessed by SentryGlas®️ allows architects to push previous building ideas incorporating glass to a higher standard. SentryGlas®️ also retains its clarity much better than any other lamination film on the market.

Water-Based Back Painted Glass

Tri-Temp Glass Inc. is a certified manufacturer of water-based back painted glass. Back painted glass is produced for the purpose of providing flexibility to design preferences. Due to it’s flexibility in design preferences, it has gained popularity in both the commercial and residential sector. Commercially, it is applied to office spaces to indicate the professionalism of an environment. Residential units most commonly use back painted glass in kitchens as a back splash. The glass is easy to clean and it is a non-porous material which helps cut down on spread of bacteria.

Water-based back painted glass advantages:

Why is Water-based paint better than solvent-based paint?

  • Water-based paint is not flammable. Solvent-based paint is highly flammable, which limits ease of air transportation (Solvent-based must be shipped in fire cabinets)
  • Water-based paint is created with a low VOC making it easy to handle. Solvent-based paint is dangerous to handle due to evaporation of VOC
  • Water-based paint has few restrictions regarding installation environment. Solvent-based paint must be installed in a location with proper ventilation and safety equipment

Application of Water-based Back Painted Glass


OPACI-COAT 300® Spandrel Glass Coatings

Tri-Temp Glass Inc. is a certified fabricator of ICD’s professional grade OPACI-COAT Glass Coatings. OPACI-COAT 300® is a silicone-based coating used to cover spandrel and wall cladding glass. This form of coating was created with the purpose of providing architects with a wide array of capabilities surrounding the customization of glass. The chemical composition of the coating provides durability and an unlimited selection of color capabilities. The processing of OPACI-COAT 300® is a nearly 100% resource efficient process and has been classified as a Zero-Volatile Organic Compounds paint according to the Environment Protection Agency. It also contains no harmful chemicals making it the best environmentally friendly solution to painting glass and providing opaqueness.

OPACI-COAT 300® was created by ICD who are strong believers in the sustainable architecture movement. This product was created using the guidance of United States Green Building Council (USGBC), the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), and the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) during product development.

Ceramic enamel frit lowers the flexural strength of heat-strengthened and tempered glass by up to 40%, increasing the possibility of breakage. Ceramic enamel frit is prone to thermal stress breakage which occurs due to large temperature differences across a singular piece of glass. Ceramic enamel frit will lower the amount of temperature difference it takes for thermal stress breaking to occur. Conversely, OPACI-COAT 300® increases the strength of glass it is applied to by 28%.

The addition of OPACI-COAT 300, to certain thicknesses, will qualify the glass as having fallout protection. If the glass were to break, the silicone coating would hold the broken glass and prevent it from falling from any structure. In order for a ceramic frit coating to qualify as having fallout protection, a nylon fabric adhesive “scrim” must be applied to the inside surface of the glass.
